How to Remove Wax from Crytsal Candlesticks

There are a few different techniques that can be used.  All of them have to be used with extreme care as the crystal candlestickcrystal may be very delicate and could get damaged in the process.

To prevent wax from sticking to the candlesticks, add a little water in the bottom of the holder, this will keep the wax from sticking to the bottom and you will be able to pull out the candle more easily.

Many people put the candlestick in the freezer for about 15 minutes, the wax hardens and condenses, and can be picked out by hand. If you need to use a butter knife be very gentle so as to not to scratch the piece. But this method must be used with extreme caution.

Some crystal can be too delicate to put in the freezer, one could add a few pieces of crushed ice around teh candle or insert the crystal candlestick in a bowl of crushed ice for a few minutes.  Make sure that it was room temperature first before doign this.  Extreme changes in temperature could break the item.

Dry cleaning fluid dissolves candle wax, and can be used on crystal  candlesticks which have no gold, silver or metal rims or decorations.

If the crystal candlesticks are strong and can sustain some heat, a little hot water can be poured aound the candlewax causing it to melt and and quickly removed before the temperature drops.  When using this method make sure that the candlesticks are at room temperature or warm before starting.

After the wax has been removed, the crystal candlesticks can be cleaned using any of these techniques.
